2025 Election
2025 Candidate Filing Period
- If the City Council chooses the traditional voting method: June 2nd to June 5th, 2025.
- If the City Council chooses ranked choice voting: August 12th to August 16th, 2025.
The decision between traditional and ranked choice voting will be determined no later than May 1st, 2025.
If the traditional method is chosen, the Primary Election is scheduled for August 12th, 2025.
The General Election for both methods is November 4th, 2025.
Candidates may declare their candidacy at the office of the clerk/recorder at the Greater Salt Lake Municipal Services District: 860 W. LeVoy, Taylorsville, Utah 84123
Qualifications to Run for Office
- Be a United States citizen at the time of filing
- Be a registered voter of the municipality
- Be a resident in the town, township or city for 12 consecutive months prior to the election.
- Not be a convicted felon unless the right to hold elective office has been restored.
